Singapore and beer
I never thought I could love Singapore more after I had a few drinks with my very good friend James during my recent visit. It was a quick visit but a memorable one. Aside from spending most of the time by my lonesome, I figured out that capping a day in a foreign land with a beer and a good chat could also be ideal.
During the day, I decided to just walk around the city after fulfilling work duties from across my home country. Despite the exhaustion, I still joined James in two straight nights of drinking session but not the usual one. Good beer indeed! James brought me to places that sell different brands of Indian Pale Ale and other kinds of beer. We were at that moment not to get drunk but to appreciate the taste of whatever we were drinking. It is then when I thought about life. Some people exhaust themselves too much to squeeze all the juices of this existence, not stopping for one second to taste it and appreciate every bit of the gesture. I like tasting. It’s like trying out new things without the pressure of loving them… because you know, you don’t choose the things that you will love. You just get to love them.
